Kentucky Truck Tuning supports select 4Runner models from 2005 forward,
including late fifth-generation and supported turbocharged
sixth-generation applications. Compatibility depends on the exact
engine, ECU, and powertrain configuration.
Will an OTT tune stop the transmission from hunting for gears?
Improved transmission behavior is one of the main reasons 4Runner
owners choose OTT. The tune is designed to make gear selection and
power delivery more predictable, although results vary by generation
and driving conditions.
Can you tune a 4Runner with larger tires or added weight?
Yes. Many tuned 4Runners have larger tires, armor, camping equipment,
or other added weight. Share the vehicle’s modifications before the
appointment so the correct tune and any custom calibration needs can
be discussed.
Does tuning disable emissions equipment or warning lights?
No. The vehicle must retain a complete and fully functioning emissions
system. Kentucky Truck Tuning does not disable emissions equipment or
turn off Check Engine or MIL warning lights.
